Today I'm here to shine a ray of hope with five reasons to be optimistic about solar energy.
1. The Photovoltaics (PV) Market is Still Growing
First reasonably optimistic the PV market is still growing. In 2016 more PV was installed worldwide than any other energy source.
And for the first time ever it was cost competitive with standard utilities.
2. PV Is Better for the Environment
PV really is better for the environment for a number of reasons it replaces dirtier fossil fuels which is the biggie and their new alongside emissions or water use of course and it continues to produce power throughout its entire lifespan.
3. PV Improves Energy Resilience
Ok the third reason to be optimistic PV can improve energy resilience. Photovoltaics can provideenergy locally and in emergencies and they act as a buffer during high peak use.
4. Solar Is All Business
All right the fourth reason to be optimistic about PV is it makes good financial sense there's still a 30% tax credit that you can get on that but using BB also reduces operating expenses lowers energy bills.
5. PV Systems Are Evolving
And the final reason to be optimistic about PV is that these systems are still evolving some solar panels are now reaching 22 percent efficiency and technologies are making them cheaper to produce and safer and better for the environment.
Battery storage is coming online now readily available connected smart grids are likely our future they're going to provide a major shift in how energy is produced and distributed.
So those are five reasons to be excited about the future of PV.
